Abstract
567,171. Safety razors. BROOKE, E. A. Oct. 28, 1943, No. 17850. [Class 30] In a safety razor of the kind in which the blade 1, Fig. 2, is clamped between a guard 3 and a backing member 2 having a screwed stud 4 to receive a handle, the handle is formed of two tubular parts 5, 6 having longitudinal slots 9, 11 so that, when out of use the parts 5 and 6 may be disconnected and slidden over the edges of the parts 1, 2, 3, as shown in Fig. 7, to form a compact structure and to guard the edges of the blade. The parts 5, 6 may be of springy material to increase the grip on the parts 2, 3 either or both of which may have grooves 18, 19 to receive the edges of the slots 9, 11. A cap 14 may be pulled off the part 6 and threaded on to the stud 4 in an inverted position to grip the parts 5, 6 to hold them against longitudinal movement, the outer surface of the cap having a concave portion 17 to engage the parts 5, 6.
