[Class 122 (v)] A stuffing-box for centrifugal pump, engine or the like comprises a closely-fitting junk-ring or follower a with clearance from the inner wall of the gland chamber permitting it to float freely to accommodate itself to any eccentricity of the shaft f. The ring is shaped as shown and is located by means of pegs c entering enlarged holes in either the gland or the ring, thus preventing relative rotation between ring and gland.
