[Class 20 (ii)] Relates to folding step-ladders of the kind in which the treads C are pivoted at their front and rear edges to parallel side members A, B, and in which the forward side members A constitute the front legs of the ladder. According to the invention, the back legs D of the stepladder are pivotally connected to one of the treads, preferably the top one C<1>, so that the tread forms a connecting link between the front and back legs of the ladder. The legs A, D are also connected by tie-rods F. The legs are preferably formed of U-shaped metal tubes, and the treads of metal pressings.
