Abstract

598,425. Ladders. DELAPRE COMPONENTS, Ltd., MAJOR, P. C., and COOK, E. Sept. 3, 1945, No. 22640. [Class 20(ii)] A long ladder comprises a number of frame structures built up of metal tubes 10, 11, 101 joined together at A, B, C by spigot joints which include spring actuated ball catches. Each bracing tube 11 is joined by a tubular rung 12 to the corresponding member on the opposite side. Fig. 4 shows how the ends of tubes 101 are pivoted by angle brackets 16 to a rod 19 which is, in turn, supported between angle brackets 18 attached by screws to a wooden top rest 17. Similar brackets 16 at the bottom of the ladder enable it to pivot upon non-slipping shoes 20, Fig. 5.
