[Class 36] [Also in Group II] Electric signalling cables are given a high attenuation per unit length by making one or more of the conductors of a metal of a high resistivity. A metal having a permeability greater than unity is preferable. The cable may be a coaxial or a balanced one, or one with a return conductor formed by the lead sheath. The metals specified are the nickel-iron alloy Rhometal (R.T.M.) and the alloy Manganin (R.T.M.)
