835,348. Cables. WESTERN ELECTRIC CO. Inc. Dec. 13, 1957 [Dec. 24, 1956], No. 38798/57. Drawings to Specification. Class 36. A coaxial submarine communication cable has a central conductor comprising a high tensile strength flexible stranded core enclosed by a conducting sheath having a layer of higher conductivity thereon. The core may be steel, the conducting sheath aluminium and the outer layer copper. The cable may be completed by an insulating covering of polythene, an outer copper tape conductor and a P.V.C. sheath. Specifications 703,782 and 778,529 are referred to.
