606,419. Electric cables. AMERICAN STEEL & WIRE CO. OF NEW JERSEY. Oct. 30, 1944, No. 21198. Convention date, Dec. 7, 1943. [Class 36] [Also in Group XXV] A towing cable, the wire strands of which serve as electric conductors, has an oval cross-section with one axis appreciably longer than the other axis and has a specific gravity less than that of water. The cable has an insulating covering 30 and an oval core 24. The core may be of sponge rubber, cork or fibrous material. The individual wires 26 may be bare or insulated, or dummy conductors 28 of insulating material may be provided between groups of bare wires. The core and the wires may be built up in layers.
