Abstract
567,890. Centrifugal pumps, &c. ESCHER WYSS MASCHINENFABRIK AKT.-GES. May 12, 1943, No. 7561. Convention date, May 29, 1942. [Class 110 (i)] In a single or multistage centrifugal pump or compressor of the closed rotor type, discs 4, 5 form channels 11 of diminishing crosssection towards the periphery of the rotor, to cause an accelerated flow of the liquid into the diffuser channel 6. The rotor blades may be alternately long and short, curved backwards or forwards or be radial, and attached to the discs after being separately manufactured. The blade tips may be as shown in Fig. 1, or extend to the edges of the discs.
