Abstract
412,381. Centrifugal fans. KEITH & BLACKMAN CO., Ltd., J., and WOODLEY, D. S., 27, Farringdon Avenue, London. April 22, 1933, No. 11834. [Class 110 (i).] A rotor for a centrifugal fan has a back plate A and a shroud plate B with eight straight blades C, each inclined backwardly at approximately 30‹ to the tangent of the inlet eye circle where it is intersected by the inner end of the blade. The diameter d of the inlet eye is approximately one-third of the diameter D of the rotor. The intersection of the blade and the outer periphery of the plate A falls 45‹ behind the intersection of the blade and the inlet eye, so that the inner intersection of one blade and the outer intersection of the previous blade are situated on a radius of the rotor. The axial width W of each blade at the inlet eye exceeds the axial width w at the periphery by one-eighth of the diameter d of the eye. Two rotors may be joined back to back to form a double inlet rotor and the blades may be shortened so that they do not reach the outer periphery of the rotor. Specification 412,380 is referred to.
