Abstract
303,452. Adamcikas, M., and Massera, G. June 22, 1927. Impeller blades. - Impeller screws or fans wherein the width of the blades increase from tip to root the hub and blades or the hub with stubs shaped to receive the roots of hollow blades are cast with spaces between the leading and trailing edges of adjacent blades as seen in front elevation. The leading edges lie in a plane at right angles to the axis of rotation. The hub 1 is cast with integral stubs 2 on which the hollow blades 3 are mounted. The blades are of aerofoil shape and formed from sheet meet shaped to form the leading edge 4 and welded at the trailing edge 5. Thewidth gradually increases from the tip with continuously increasing rapidity toward the root.
