Abstract

513,863. Screw fans. WOODS, Ltd., M. W.; and DALY, B. B. April 21, 1938, No. 11982. [Class 114] A screw fan blade has a single curve section 1, at the root which changes smoothly from root to tip into a shallow double curve as at 5, 7 whilst the sections are disposed so that the pitch angle decreases from root to tip. The driving face is concave at the leading edge L which is itself convex whilst the trailing edge T is approximately straight..The blades are welded to the hub or alternatively opposite pairs are in one with central discs which are riveted together and to a flat boss.
