Abstract
565,952. Steam generators. HOSKINS, H. V. May 26,1943, No. 8399. [Class 123 (ii)] [Also in Group XII] A mixture of combustion products and steam for driving turbines and the like is generated by supplying to an elongated water-jacketed combustion chamber 24 air and fuel under pressure from pipes 22, 30, the combustion products being delivered through a nozzle 18 to a duct 20 leading to the turbine &c. where they are mixed with jets of water from the jacket 16 supplied through converging nozzles 34. The water is supplied to the jacket 16 under pressure and the jets of water are converted into steam upon contacting with the hot combustion products. The fuel passes through a coil 26 before passing to the fuel nozzle 28.
