Abstract

654,122. Gas turbine plant. ROLLSROYCE, Ltd. June 11, 1948, No. 15844. [Class 110(iii)] [Also in Groups XI and XII] A plurality of baffles 15, 16 are mounted in a combustion chamber casing with their convex surfaces facing upstream to form stagnant zones into which fuel is injected through injectors 17. The injectors 17 associated with the baffles 16 are fed from a ring main 18 and that associated with the baffle 15 by a pipe 22 direct from the common supply line 19. When the fuel pressure is low, fuel is fed only to the central injector and when high to all the injectors. To facilitate combustion at low loads, the central baffle 15 is surrounded by a tube 23 which allows only a part of the air to pass around this baffle.
