Abstract
675,583. Gas turbine plant. AKT.-GES. BROWN, BOVERIE, & CIE. Aug. 16, 1949 [Sept. 4, 1948], No. 21282/49. Class 110(iii) A thermal power plant comprises a gas generating plant 1 operating under pressure and gas and steam turbine plants 14, 18 respectively, in which steam resulting from the cooling of the gas turbine and gas generating plants is used in the steam turbine plant. The producer gas is cleaned in a dust separator 10 and burnt in a combustion chamber 12 prior to entering the gas turbine. The gas turbine drives an electric generator 17 and may also drive a compressor for supplying air to the members 1, 12. Water is pumped through a circuit 7 to cooling jackets 6 and the steam is fed to a tank 22 through a circuit 8. The condensate in the tank is recirculated to the circuit 7 whilst the steam therein is fed to a superheater 24 and the steam turbine plant. The condensate from the steam turbine is heated in a heater 25 and returned to the tank. The steam turbine plant may include a feed water economiser operated with " bleeder steam. The gas turbine plant may comprise two turbines, one of which drives an electric generator at a constant speed and the other drives an air compressor at a variable speed.
