Abstract
697,074. Feedwater heating systems. AKT.-GES. BROWN, BOVERI & CIE. Jan. 22, 1952 [Jan. 24, 1951], No. 1738/52. Class 64 (i) [Also in Groups XII and XXVI] Air compressed in a compressor 1 is supplied to the combustion chamber 3 of a steam boiler 5. The compressor 1 is driven by two turbines 7, 10, operated in series by the combustion gases leaving the combustion chamber. Between the turbines 7, 10, a feed water heater 8 is arranged so as to lower the temperature of the gas entering the turbine 10. Modifications are described in which the turbines 7, 10 drive separate compressors which may be arranged in series or parallel.
