Class 110(iii) [Also in Group XII] In a gas turbine plant supplied with combustible gas from a gas generator, the air supplied to the cycle for gasification and also for combustion of the gas produced is diluted with the products of the combustion. A gas turbine 2 is supplied with combustion gases from a combustion chamber 4 supplied with combustible gas from a gas generator 3 and air from a compressor 1. The exhaust gases from the turbine 2 pre-. heat the air supplied to the combustion chamber and gas generator in heaters 7, 8, and are then divided. Part passes through a heat exchanger 9 and gas cooler or heat exchanger 6 to a compressor 10 supplying air to the gas generator, a second part passes through a cleaner or cooler 15 to the inlet of the compressor 1 and the remainder is exhausted to atmosphere. A combustible gas cleaner 5 may be provided. In a modification, Fig. 2, the air from the compressor 1 is heated indirectly in a heat exchanger 11 by the combustion gases from the combustion chamber 4. After expansion in the turbine 2, this air is supplied in part to the combustion chamber 4 and in part to the inlet of the compressor. The gases from the combustion chamber pass through a heat exchanger 12 in which the gasification air is heated and are then divided. Part is mixed with the gasification air supplied by a booster 14 and part returns to the inlet of the compressor 1 through a cooler or cleaner 15. The gasification air may also be heated by the exhaust of the turbine 2 in a heat exchanger 13. The application to the plant of gas generators of the type described in Specifications 338,108, [Class 55(ii)], and 578,771, [Group XII]. Specification 613,124, [Group XII], also is referred to.
