Abstract

565,202. Converting. MASTERADIO, Ltd., POLLOCK, R., and ROBINSON, S. L. July 5, 1943, No. 10879. [Class 38 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXVII] The energizing coil w of an interrupter r has a number of tapped points 1, 2... 6, whereby it is suitable for operation by sources of different voltage. The interrupter is shown in a converting system for producing high tension current from a low tension source b, contacts c<SP>1</SP>, c<SP>2</SP> of the interrupter being connected to the two ends of a transformer primary t<SP>1</SP>. A plug- and-socket device is interposed as shown, movement of an arm a on the socket device serving to connect a central socket s<SP>7</SP> to a selected socket s<SP>1</SP> to s<SP>6</SP> and so connecting the appropriate tapping into circuit. If it is desired to rectify the A.C. produced at the secondary t<SP>2</SP> appropriate connections, not shown, are made to sockets s<SP>9</SP>, s<SP>10</SP>, which engage plugs p<SP>9</SP>, p<SP>10</SP>, connected to contacts c<SP>3</SP>, c<SP>4</SP> on the interrupter.
