Abstract

[Class 38 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXVII] In a system for energizing alternately the two halves of a transformer primary 51 and then delivering rectified current from the secondary 53 to a circuit 55 through rectifier contacts 26, 28, a vibratory reed 19 carries two armatures 20, 21 arranged between two electromagnets 13, 15 which are alternately shortcircuited at contacts 27, 29 so that the reed is maintained in vibration. The slight asymmetry that will always exist is sufficient to set the device in motion, one pair of poles 12, 16 or 14, 17 having a slightly greater effect than the other which increases with deflection. The contacts 26, 28 are arranged behind the contacts 27, 29, Fig. 2, and are engaged slightly later, the reed twisting slightly in the process.
