563,969. Brakes. PRATT, J. H. March 6, 1943, No. 3675. [Class 103 (i)] In internal expanding brakes of the kind comprising a pair of adjusting plungers engaging the ends of the shoes opposite to those engaged by the expander, bodily sliding movement of the shoes to prevent binding thereof at the ends adjacent the expander when the brake is applied is permitted by the provision of a D-shaped piece 7 slidable radially in the forked end 5c of each adjusting plunger 5, the curved edge 7a of the piece 7 providing a pivotal bearing for the end 6b of the shoe 6.
