Abstract
562,172. Internal gauges. DICKINSON, W. Sept. 2, 1942, No. 12370. [Class 106 (ii)] An internal gauge comprises a tubular gauge bar a divided along its exterior surface and having adjustable along it a disc c, one end of said bar carrying guideways for a radiallymovable gauging member n<1> or members i and the other carrying a disc f provided with a fiduciary mark g, a rod d rotatable within the tubular bar a and carrying at one end a, disc e divided to cooperate with the disc g, and a cam plate m at the other end of the rod provided with a series of flats and cam surfaces adapted to engage the gauging members and press them outwards in such a manner that the diameter of the circle formed by the gauging members is determinedly less than the measurement for which the gauge is intended, when the gauging members engage the centres of the flats, or one end of the cam surfaces, determinedly greater at the other end of the cam surface, and equal to the standard measurement in the centre of the cam surfaces.
