674,488. Vernier gauges. MAHR, C. W. June 19, 1950 [June 17, 1949], No. 15307/50, Class 106 (ii). In a vernier calliper gauge comprising a metal rule 1 with a fixed jaw 11 and a sliding jaw 2, the rule has a matt coating, e.g. of chromium, on the scalebearing portion which may be slightly sunk, and has its guide surfaces uncoated.
