850,564. Sliding-calliper gauges. MAHR, C. Feb. 20, 1959, No. 6003/59. Class 106 (2). To prevent parallax errors when reading the setting of a vernier calliper, the face 2 of the rule is coplanar with the graduated face 5 of the slide, the part 2 of the rule being formed as a separate strip attached to the base 1. The part 2 may be attached by screws 4 or by riveting, welding or soldering. If screws are used, adjustment is possible when wear takes place, the screws passing through suitable slots. The graduated part 2 may be matt chromium plated.
