Sept. 30, 1933, No. 26966. [Class 106 (ii)] A micrometer screw gauge comprises a screw rod 7 urged by a torsion spring 18 into contact with an anvil 5, and moved by a rotatable thimble 13 having a key-andgroove connection 17, 16 with a pointer 10 which is thus moved in one plane over a fixed graduated dial 9. A ring 20 adjustably clamped by a nut 21 on the dial 9 is provided with grooves or other markings to indicate the mean thickness of a series of plates under test and also the allowable tolerance. Specification 426,626 is referred to.
