556,328. Reciprocating pumps for gases or liquids. JONES, D. G. March 23, 1942, No. 3846. [Classes 8 (i) and 102 (i)] [Also in Group XXVI] The piston of a fluid motor or pump for gases or liquids drives or is driven by an eccentric 12 through a slipper jointed to the piston or to an interposed tappet by a partcylindrical rib 16 on a neck of the slipper fitting into a transverse slot of the piston or tappet, the ends of the rib contacting with guides which prevent turning of the slippers round the piston axes but allow the ribs to oscillate on their axes. The guides may be constituted by valve guides or valve tappet guides. The rubbing surfaces of the slippers may be grooved with lubricant passages leading to the grooves. Specification 554,652 is referred to.
