Abstract

979,901. Reciprocating pumps and motors. APPLIED POWER INDUSTRIES Inc. July 16, 1962 [July 17, 1961], No. 27285/62. Heading F1A. In an axial piston pump or motor the drive shaft 8 is coupled to the cylinder block 20 by a splined sleeve 36 which has a part spherical end 44 which engages in an aperture 45 in a keeper ring 30 for retaining the piston slippers 28 against the stationary cam plate 16, a spring 42 acting on the end of the sleeve 36. The keeper ring 30 pivots about a point 46 and a plane 47 through the centres of the ball ends of the pistons passes through this point, as does the central plane 50 of a bearing 35 mounting the end of the block 20 in the housing.
