619,082. Stuffing-boxes. MEGATOR PUMPS & COMPRESSORS, Ltd., and McCOMBIE, F. W. Nov. 13, 1946, No. 33709. [Class 122 (v)] In a pump or the like, the projecting shaft has a sleeve 10 secured thereon, and arranged in an external bearing 3 having a pair of stuffing-boxes 14 arranged one on either side, contained in a housing 4 secured to the pump housing 1 and supplied with lubricating and sealing liquid from a cylinder 17 having a differential piston 18 operated by pressure from the pump. The piston-rod 19 may operate a tell-tale device 24 to indicate abnormal loss of lubricating liquid.
