764,698. Radial-cylinder engines. HADE. KEL, R. Feb. 24, 1955 [Feb. 25, 1954], No. 5589/54. Drawings to Specification. Classes 122 (1) and 122 (3). [Also in Groups XXVIII and XXIX] A piston of a radial cylinder pump or motor having a flat head engaging a flat surface on a track has a central recess surrounded by a further shallow recess the depth of which is of the order of 0.0002 inch, and communicating with the cylinder space. The head of the piston may comprise a member having a spherical seat engaging the piston, the recess being formed in a flat end of the member. The track may be secured to the shaft and drive the cylinder block through an Oldham coupling or the shaft may drive the block and the track through an Oldham coupling in which case the eccentricity of the track may be adjustable. The block may be arranged to be non-rotatable.
