Abstract

1,106,486. Reciprocating pumps and motors. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. May 10, 1966 [May 12, 1965], No. 20587/66. Heading F1A. The pistons of an axial piston pump or motor have ball ends which engage in sockets formed in caps 28 engaged in pockets 44 formed in a wobble plate 30. The caps have flanges the surfaces 46 of which engage the wobble plate 30. The centres of the balls and sockets, the surfaces 46 and the engaged surfaces of the wobble plate lie in one plane. The wobble plate has a splined driving connection 38 with the drive-shaft 34 and engages an angularly adjustable stationary cam-plate 32. The pockets 44 are supplied with pressure fluid from the working cylinders via passages 48 in the pistons. In a modification the splined drive 38 is replaced by a sleeve driven by the body and having slots in which blocks on trunnions on the plate 30 slide.
