Abstract

551,592. Lamp-holders. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Dec. 16, 1941, No. 16208. Convention date, Dec. 19, 1940. [Class 38 (i)] A holder for a tubular lamp 10 is provided with a resilient bead to provide an anular seal between the holder and the lamp-cap. The holder 11 is made of rubber, the bead 25 being integral therewith and surrounding the sockets 19 so as to abut on the flat end of the lamp-cap 13 when the pins 14 are inserted in the sockets 19. The holder 11 is mounted in a resilient bracket 18 by sliding the arms 27 of the bracket into slots 26. The resilience of the bracket presses the bead 25 into engagement with the lamp-cap and allows displacement of the two holders for the insertion of the lamp as shown in Fig. 2. The holder can, however, be slid out of the bracket 18, applied to the lamp, and then replaced in the bracket. The body 17 of the holder is moulded round the sockets 19 and their connections to leads 22, an extension 24 being moulded round the leads.
