Abstract

504,055. Electric - lamp holders. CRABTREE & CO.. Ltd., J. A., McLOUGHLIN, H. F., and HARRISON, B. G. Dec. 16, 1937, No. 34805. [Class 38 (i)] A lamp holder has spring- pressed plunger contacts i formed integral with terminals d and mounted in cavities b in the body of the holder, the lower ends of the plungers being reduced in diameter to enable the springs k to be passed over them after inserting the plungers in the cavities. The lower ends of the springs are of smaller diameter than the upper ends and abut on shoulders formed on the plunger or engage with a threaded portion thereof. Alternatively an inturned end of the spring may enter a transverse hole or recess in the plunger. The terminals d are square or have a flat side to co-operate with a projection e on the body to prevent rotation of the plunger. Between the contacts is a recess l shaped to follow the curvature of the cavities b and so to form a thin wall to prevent irregularities arising during curing of the moulded body.
