Abstract
548,501. Measuring high-frequency current. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. Aug. 1, 1941, No. 9800. Convention date, Aug. 10, 1940. [Class 37] [Also in Group XL] An amplifying rectifier (see Group XL), in which the rectified output is applied to one of the control grids to reduce the space current is used for measuring the amplitude of a carrier wave. As shown the wave is fed to the input grid 16 and the amplified output 'from anode 14 is fed back to the suppressor grid 20; which forms a diode with cathode 12 together with load resistance R1, and part of bias resistance R. The resulting energy is fed through resistance R2 back to the input grid 16 whence it passes through the valve and the result is read on a meter M in series with the output impedance 22. A two stage circuit is also described (Fig. 2 not shown).
