[Classes 39 (i) and 40 (v)] In a circuit for generating high frequency oscillations or for amplifying using the influence principle in which an accelerator grid 4 at higher positive potential than the anode 5 is used, an additional electrode 6 at the same potential as or a higher potential than the accelerator grid 4 is provided to bring the alternating space charge nearer to the anode 5 and so to increase the influence exerted by the said space charge on the anode. The anode is preferably perforated. When used for generating high frequency oscillations, the circuit may be back coupled by Lecher wire system 7. Specification 457,928 is referred to.
