546,169. Supplying blast to cupola &c. furnaces. MEEHANITE METAL CORPORATION. July 14, 1941, No. 8902. Convention date, Oct. 2, 1940. [Classes 51 (i) and 51 (ii)] [Also in Group XXVI] In cupola and like furnaces means are provided for supplying blast uniformly to the tuyeres 15 from the wind box 16 consisting of an annular fan 20 situated at the upper open end of the wind box and driven by a motor 29 through gearing. The fan is provided with inclined vanes 22, Fig. 4, and is mounted on ball bearings 26. The flange 23 is provided with gear teeth which are engaged by the pinion 30 on the motor shaft. Baffle plates 32 are mounted vertically in the wind box.
