Abstract
590,419. Gas turbines. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. March 5, 1945, No. 5517. Convention date, March 7, 1944. [Class 110 (iii)] Various auxiliaries of a gas turbine plant such as speed governor, lubrication pump, tachometer generator and starting motor are mounted on the outside of an end-plate 5 and the shafts and gearings of the various drives are mounted on the inside of the end-plate between it and bracket plates 10, 11. All these parts can be removed in one piece. The starting motor drives the starting fuel pump directly and the turbine plant, &c. through a free-wheel clutch 66. During normal running, the auxiliaries are driven from a power shaft 3. Specification 590,422 is referred to.
