Abstract

191,360. Soc. Rateau. Jan. 7, 1922, [Convention date]. Axial-flow type; oppositely-running rotor type; driving and transmission mechanism, special applications of; motor power plant.-In a turbine having two rotors B, E mounted on oppositely running shafts C, F the second shaft F rotates at a lower speed than the shaft C preferably at one half speed, and the steam issuing from the casing J containing the oppositely running rotors B, E expands in two groups of rotors, one group on each shaft. These groups of rotors may be in series or parallel. The shafts may drive alternators which may be coupled electrically. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also modifications in which the shafts are geared together. Fig. 6 (Cancelled) shows a coaxial sleeve shaft C<1> carrying an internally toothed wheel S<1> gearing with a toothed wheel on the shaft F. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
