740,904. Securing turbine and compressor rotors on shafts. MINISTER OF SUPPLY, and ROVER CO., Ltd. March 9, 1954 [Dec. 30, 1952], No. 32957/52. Class 80(2) [Also in Group XXVI] A gas turbine engine has a central gear casing 1 provided with bearings 8, 17 supporting a rotor shaft 4 to the ends of which are attached an overhung turbine rotor 6 and an overhung compressor rotor 5. The abutting faces of the rotor shaft and the stub shafts of the compressor and turbine rotors are provided with interengaging serrations 29, 30 constituting driving connections, the rotors and the rotor shaft being clamped together by a tie-bolt 26.
