Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the explosion of furnace top gas at the time of resuming blast furnace operation by increasing the stock line by sampling the gases from the plural places in the circumferential direction in the cavity parts in the mid part of a shaft or bosh and measuring the same after reducing the stock line and blowing down of a blast furnace. CONSTITUTION:After reduction of the stock line and blowing down, gases are sampled from the plural places in the circumferential direction in the cavity parts in the mid part of a shaft or bosh, and the gas components contg. a large amount of CO and H2 in said cavity parts in the lower part of the furnace where substitution of the gases with steam or N2 is difficult are detected. In this case, the gases are sampled at >=2 placed in the circumferential direction of the cavity parts, and more preferably the gases are detected from six equidistantly spaced parts at the same height level of the position 1-6m above the charge line after the reduction of the stock line. As a result, the gas components within the local gas explosion limits are accurately detected and gas explosion is perfectly prevented.
