Abstract

543,041. Endless tracks for vehicles. SEILER, K. Nov. 28, 1940, No. 17018. Convention date, Sept. 30, 1939. [Class 79 (i)] An endless-chain or track for vehicles is provided with resilient ground-engaging members or feet each comprising a closed hollow rubber body 4 distended or pressed outwards by a resilient member within the body. The resilient member may be a spring 15, Fig. 2, or an air cushion 17, Fig. 6. The foot 4 is formed with a flange 4<SP>1</SP> secured by screws 7 between an annular plate 5 and the sole plate 1 of the corresponding track link 2. the nuts 8 of the screws 7 resting in depressions formed in the plate 5 or in separate cup-shaped washers resting on the plate. In the construction shown in Fig. 2 ,the foot is provided with a metal plate 14 pressed outwards by a spring 15 housed in a telescopic cylinder 12, 13. In the construction shown in Fig. 6, the foot is distended by an air cushion 17 provided with a valve tube 18 for inflation.
