Abstract

371,784. Railway wheels. BARTLETT, D. W. G., Cwy Parc, Talybont-on- Usk, Breconshire. Dec. 11, 1931, No. 34368. [Class 144 (i).] A railway or like wheel comprises a body portion 1 having a flat peripheral rim 2 to receive an air-tube 3 on which is mounted a steel tyre 4, the tube and tyre being retained against lateral movement by apertured steel plates 5, 6, bolted, to the body portion 1. The diameter of the inner plate 6 is greater than the external diameter of the tyre 4 and constitutes the guide-flange of the wheel. In modifications, (not shown), one or both of the plates 5, 6 may be formed integrally with the wheel-body.
