Abstract

542,257. Wireless receiving apparatus. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and STENNING, L. C. Sept. 30, 1940, No. 14740. [Class 40 (v)] In a variable re-actor of the kind varied by adjusting the mutual conductance of a thermionic valve the ratio of the potentiometer P in the valve input is substantially real and the output admittance and transfer ratio of the network A in the valve output is approximately a pure imaginary. The ratio may be an imaginary owing to the mutual inductance M in the network or alternatively to a condenser coupling between the upper ends of the coils L 1 , L 2 . The Specification gives a mathematical analysis of the circuit.
