[Class 40 (v).] The input circuit of a wireless receiver comprises two variable condensers 2, 3 operated in unison and arranged in series across a common inductance 5, a mid-point connection being taken to the aerial 4 either directly or through a series condenser 7. A similar arrangement A can be used as an intervalve coupling. Reaction is controlled by a differential condenser, shunted across a coil in the anode circuit. The energy transfer between the aerial and closed input circuits remains constant throughout the tuning range, since the coupling factor decreases with the effective capacity of the tuning-condenser 3.
