Abstract
221,951. Cooke & Whitfield Wireless, Ltd., and Whitfield, H. H. Sept. 18, 1923. Coupling aerial and detector circuits; thermionic detectors.-A valve receiving set has a single turn L<4> of the aerial circuit coupled to a periodic coil L' which is inductively coupled to a variable tuning inductance. L<2>, the coils being constructed of wire of low resistance. The coil L<3> is shunted by a condenser C<4> of small capacity but is not tuned to the incoming signal. A reaction coil L<1> may be coupled to the tuned circuit L<2>, C<2>. A grid condenser C<3> connects one side of the circuit L<2>, C<2> to the grid of the valve, while the other side is connected to the plate circuit.
