Abstract

446,018. Impedance networks. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., Electra House, Victoria Embankment, London. -(Assignees of Yolles, J. ; 2361, 64th Street, Brooklyn, New York, U.S.A.) Oct. 29, 1934, No. 31027. Convention date, Oct. 28, 1933. [Class 40 (iii)] In order to effect image frequency suppression in a signal selector circuit of a superheterodyne receiver which comprises two coils 3 and 4, 5 which are magnetically and capacitatively coupled to obtain a flat gain characteristic, the tunable secondary circuit 4, 5 is tapped at 6 for connection to the grid of the following valve 2, the magnetic coupling existing only between the coil 3 and the low potential secondary portion 4, while the capacity coupling is provided by a coil 9 arranged near the tapping 6 and connected at one end only to the high potential end of the primary 3. The winding 3 has a natural frequency below but close to the range of the tuned secondary. The coupling may be between an aerial 1 and a high frequency amplifier 2 or between two valves such as a high frequency amplifier and first detector.
