Abstract

340,046. Blundell, L., and Curtis, W. H. Sept. 27, 1929. Thermionic amplifiers.-The valves 4, 5 of a wireless receiver are coupled by aperiodic step-up transformers 51 with separate, individual windings in sections on a former or bobbin, such as that described in Specification 331,921, [Class 38 (ii), Electric currents, Converting &c.]. The primary and secondary may be wound in opposite directions, the plate of the preceding valve 4 connected to a tapping on the primary, and a tapping on the secondary connected to the grid of the succeeding valve 5, (Fig. 2, not shown). A double-pole switch 50 throws a coil 47 in shunt with an aperiodic aerial coil 43 and a grid coil 46 to increase the frequency to which the grid circuit can be tuned by a variable condenser 48.
