Themionic amplifiers.-A volume control for use in high-frequency circuits without varying the tuning adjustment comprises an impedance constituted by two parallel branches each containing two condensers in series, the capacity of one of the condensers being wholly or partially constituted by the grid-filament capacity of the valve. The Figure shows a three-electrode condenser 4 in series with condensers 5, 6. Condenser 5 may be formed as a plate co-operating with the plate 10 of the three-electrode condenser.
