Abstract

420,702. Wireless signalling. COLE, Ltd., E. K., Priory Crescent, Southend-on- Sea, and WYBORN, E. J., 5, Clencarse, Chalkwell Avenue, Westcliff-on-Sea. Aug. 9, 1933, No. 22236. [Class 40 (v)] A highly-capacitative aerial with a relatively small pick-up, such as is used on at motor car, is closely coupled to the input coil, and the resulting transfer of capacity, and consequent restriction in wave-band range, is offset by using permeability tuning. The two coils 3, 5 are ganged to movable iron cores, the coil 5 being shunted by a fixed coil 7 of the same capacity as the aerial. Both coils are provided with trimming condensers 4, 8. The aerial 1, 2 may be connected to a mid-point tapping on the coil 3.
