Abstract

626,143. Impedance networks. GARLICK, J. Dec. 24, 1946, No. 37805. [Class 40 (viii)] In a coupling circuit including a transformer, the inductance Zc of the latter forms a shunt element of a high-pass filter circuit terminated at both its input and output ends by resistances R1 and R0. For mathematical convenience the actual transformer is not shown, but its effect is represented by adding an ideal imaginary transformer IT at the output terminals. In some constructions the output may be connected across the condenser ZA in series with the resistance R0 to improve the response at low frequencies. The presence of the resistances R1 and R0 enables the imput impedance of the network to be brought into a desired relation to a further impedance in the apparatus in which the circuit is included.
