542,238. Centrifugal mixing machines. WOLFE, G. H. March 20, 1940; No. 5231. Convention date, March 27, 1939. [Class 23] A centrifugal mixer for fluids used, for example, in the preparation of explosive mixtures has a centrifugal rotor 2 supplied with the separate fluid components through conduits 6, 7 containing valves 16, 15 which can be operated to vary the ratio of the components supplied. The rotor, which works in the casing 1, has blades 3 and discharges the mixture to the outlet 5. The linkage connecting the valves 15, 16 is shown in Fig. 2 and is operated by the control rod 8. The arm 10 of the valve 16 is joined by a link 11 and pin 11<SP>1</SP> to the slotted link 9 of the valve 15. By means of the rod 13, bell crank 12', and a rod 12, the pin 11' can be set in any position in the slot in link 9 thus fixing the relationship of the two valves before operation.
