Abstract
587,224. Rotary meters. STEWART, H. T., SHAW, J., and CURTIS, V. G. T. Dec. 28, 1944, No. 26038. Convention date, Aug. 3, 1943. [Class 110 (ii)] In a rotary meter of the gyratory piston type, the abutment 7, between the inlet and outlet ports, oscillates about an axis positioned along its length. A pivot pin may extend into the abutment from the working-chamber base, or projections 11 may engage recesses in the casing, but pins and projections may be dispensed with. The abutment may be built up of separate parts, or its upper and lower ends may have flanges. Vertical grooves 12 may be provided to act as seals, coacting with recesses 2a, 4a, being supplied by passages 13. The abutment may be made of ebonite, metal or other rigid material and may be composite.
