488,011. Rotary meters. MUSELIER, B. G. M. Jan. 17, 1938, No. 1473. [Class 110 (ii)] A liquid meter has the impelling mechanism, i.e. vanes 1, 2, and gears 3<1> ... 3<6> contained within a chamber 10, the whole being removable from the top 6. The chamber is pressed upwards against a gasket 15, by a screw which passes through a threaded hole H in a stirrup 11. Before removing the chamber, valves 16<1>, 16<2> are swung over to cover holes 19<1>, 19<2> and uncover ports 201, 20<2>, which are connected by an annular groove 21 forming a byepass. Normally, liquid passes from an inlet 8<1> to an outlet 8<2> by way of hole 19<1>, a filter 7, and through the measuring chamber. Fig. 6 shows a coupling device between the measuring chamber mechanism and the indicating mechanism 28 ... 32. Pins 24<1> are spring-pressed into engagement with one pair of a series of holes 27<1> arranged on a diameter d on the gear 26. A wooden shearing key 31 is incorporated, to prevent heavy stresses being transmitted to the mechanism 28, 32.
